The efforts to establish Jawahar Lal Nehru PG College, Etah got initiated with the formation of Etah Education Society in 1963. With its affiliation to Agra University, Agra, the college finally got established in 1966 under the aegis of Etah Education Society. The college was started with the pious mission of imparting quality higher education to all sections of the society without any discrimination on the basis of caste, creed, culture, gender, religion etc.
The college which started with only 6 UG Departments under the Faculty of Arts in 1966 has now grown into a leading multi-faculty college of the region having 11 UG and 9 PG Departments under the faculties of Arts, Science, Commerce and Professional Studies. At present, the college is running a number of UG and PG courses, namely, B.A., B.Com., B.Sc., B.B.A., M.A., M.Com., M.Sc. (Maths) and PGDCP.
With all modern amenities the college is located in the heart of the city and that too on the historical Grand Trunk Road (G.T. Road) and is connected to all the major parts of the country via rail and road. The Bus Stand is only 1 km away and the Railway Station is hardly at a distance of 2 km from the college.
